My Angel
by: Elizabeth Rachael Vallano
She walks with me
in the shadows,
forbidden by the sun.
She is always there with me
in the darkness,
unbeknownst to even herself.
She waits with me
in the morning,
trapped by the light of day.
She eludes me for the rising,
wishing she were somewhere else.
